This year, we had not one, but two end-of-year assemblies!

Another year has flown by and once again we have had to wave farewell to our Year 6 children. Working with Miss Fitzsimons, they created a memorable and amusing leavers’ assembly which reminded us what a fun-filled bunch they have been throughout their time at Flookburgh! It’s not everyday that someone is rolled into an assembly inside a tyre!

After watching highlights from this year’s Class 4 residential, the children acted out a sketch where they lamented not being at Flookburgh anymore (the work at Cartmel is too hard…!). We then had the traditional ‘chair spin’ where the children shared their favourite Flookburgh memories and their career hopes.

This year, three awards were given out to worthy recipients:

Art Prize – Paige Bingley
Sports Prize – Evie Rowlandson
Pupil of the Year – Kian Nickson

Finally, it wouldn’t be much of a Leavers’ Assembly without a few emotional mums…!

Best of luck for the future, Flookburgh School won’t be the same without you all!

Afternoon Church Service

All classes helped to prepare something special to mark the end of term.

Class 2 read out their summer themed poems and shared their posters.

Next, we celebrated those children who had achieved 100% attendance this term, as well as the four children which had maintained 100% attendance for the whole academic year!

The Year 6 children took the spotlight again as they lead us singing the ‘Leavers’ Song’.

Class 3 celebrated the Year 6 leavers by reading out their acrostic poems about each of them!

The Choir Club gave a wonderful performance of ‘A Million Dreams‘ from The Greatest Showman.

Our service, and the year as a whole, drew to a close with Mr. Jones’ closing speech. We also gave a final farewell to our Year 6s!
